As part of our OLEV accreditation, we can help you access the OLEV EV Homecharge Scheme. This means that you can save ?500 per installed socket, for up to 2 sockets per household (subject to T&C’s).
OLEV Grants (Office for Low Emission Vehicles Grants )
The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) aims to encourage the growth of ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEV) across the UK. As part of this strategy, they offer subsidized grants for the installation of home and workplace Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points.
OLEV Homecharge Grant
This grant is also known as the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS). Reducing the cost of purchase and installation of a home charging point by 75%, the OLEV homecharge grant can be very beneficial. The grant covers costs of up to a maximum value of 500 and limits the number of charge points to one per eligible vehicle, with a maximum of two per household.
There are some criteria you must meet to qualify for this grant. This criteria includes:
- dedicated off-street parking
- a charger with smart technology
- installation carried out by an OLEV approved installer
- EV purchased after 1st October 2016
OLEV Workplace Charging Grant
Also known as the WCS, the OLEV Workplace Charge Scheme can provide support for the up-front costs associated with the purchase and installation of EV charging points. This is available for eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
You can save up to 75% of the cost per socket with the Workplace Charging Scheme, and this will also cover up to a maximum of 20 sockets with a maximum cost of 500 per socket.
There are some criteria you must meet to qualify for this grant, including:
- dedicated off-street parking
- installation carried out by an OLEV approved installer
- proof of a need for EV chargers at the workplace, or proof of an intent to encourage uptake of EV vehicles among staff
